Revenues and Expenses to calculate the Savings of a household
A household has revenues and expenses
Examples of revenues:
- Labour income : salary
- Income from a rental apartment : rent
The diagram below shows these incomes and expenditures and calculates :
- total monthly income (box A11) (1)
- total monthly expenses (B11) (2)
- monthly savings (C11) (3).
Examples of expenses:
- Repayment of the loan on a house: monthly payments
- Transportation costs
You can enter your revenue and expense amounts in the diagram below:
Click on a box, for example A3 (Salary) (4), and enter your salary. Then click “Save and calculate” (6) or type the “Enter” key or click anywhere in the diagram. You have thus entered your salary in the “Main expression” field (5) of the “Calculations” window (below). It is also indicated in the concept “Salary” (A3). All the values of the notions influenced have been recalculated.
In box D3 (7) you can enter a number of month that you wish to share.
The diagram will calculate the total amount saved within this time: D5 and D6 (8).
As you have just noticed, the diagram is interactive and you can use it online. You can change the numbers and have the diagram calculate for you.
If you want to modify the diagram itself
- add or move notions
- modify calculation formulas
- change colors
you just have to click on the green button “Edit this diagram” (at the top right of the diagram).
